I explained previously in Bank Account Setup Article After Opening What are the steps you need to take after opening your Fintiba blocked account. Now, after finishing the process of uploading the documents for the account, we reach one of the most important stages, which is Transferring money to the Fintiba blocked account.
This step is essential in order to obtain the proof of financial competence document, known as the Blocking Confirmation, which is an indispensable document among those required to obtain an entry visa to German territory.
In this article, we will guide you on how to perform the transfer correctly. We will also explain important details you should pay attention to in order to ensure the funds arrive without delay or errors. In addition, we provide a detailed comparison between transfer options from within or outside Germany, highlighting the pros and cons of each option.
We note the necessity of reading the article on proving the source of funds directly after finishing this article, as both articles are related to each other. This ensures that you have a clear understanding of the Fintiba blocked account. Click here to read the article.
It is important to point out the necessity of watching the video for this article, which I published on my YouTube channel. The video helps in getting a general idea about money transfer and understanding the terms and steps.
The first step you need to take to set up the blocked account for the transfer
When logging into the account after receiving identity confirmation, the account appears as shown in the image. We select the "Start Depositing Money" option indicated at the bottom of the image.

After that, we continue with the steps and select the country from which we will make the transfer to the Fintiba blocked account, as shown in the image.

Important information about the money sender
After answering the transfer questions, the detailed transfer data will appear. We download the transfer file as indicated below and send the file to the person who will make the transfer. I would like to point out here some points related to the person transferring the funds:
- A person can carry out the transfer to the Fintiba blocked account as soon as they receive the aforementioned transfer file. Therefore, there is no need to select anything else from the options that appear on the account, as Fintiba usually displays some bank options for us to do so by transferring through it, which we do not need.
- The reason for the transfer that the person sending the money might be asked about is for studies. This reason is suitable for all transfer cases, whether it is the medical adjustment visa, the master's visa, the dependent visa, or others.
- The person transferring the money does not have to be a relative of ours; rather, they can be a friend or anyone else.

Later, after completing the transfer process, we click on the option indicated in the image: I have made the transfer.

Important details in the transfer file for the Fintiba blocked account
What is the IBAN and what is the BIC
After opening the previous file, it appears as shown in the following image. In case we were the ones whoWe do Conversion process funds or in case there is someone else, what matters to us regarding the money transfer process are the two elements indicated by the burgundy rectangle:

- The IBAN of the closed bank account: stands for International Bank Account Number, which means International Bank Account Number, which is a standardized format used to identify a specific bank account globally, and facilitates international bank transfers accurately and securely.
- The bank's BIC, SWIFT, or bank code: which is an abbreviation for Bank Identifier Code It is also known as SWIFT Code, which is a SWIFT code itself and not for the bank account. It is used in international bank transfers to identify The receiving entity, specifically the designated bank.
What is the amount of money that must be transferred to the Fintiba blocked account?
In the same file, there is a calculation showing the total amount you need to transfer to the Fintiba blocked account. As shown in the image, the amount is 13,363 euros. This is the new amount after Fintiba raised its blocked account opening fees at the beginning of November 2025.
It is important to note that 13,363 euros is the amount that must arrive in the account. Sometimes there is a commission taken by the bank transferring the amount, so if 13,363 is transferred and the bank takes a commission, the amount will arrive in the account short. Therefore, it is important to arrange these details with the person who will be transferring the funds so that they inquire about this matter thoroughly.

The image is self-explanatory, but I would like to point out that the blocked bank account opening fees are non-refundable. As for the 100 euro security deposit, it is held by the bank and can be refunded later.
Some may find that the account opening fee is 89 euros, which means that their account was opened before the blocked account fee was raised.
Now we have several important matters that help us with the conversion:
- The amount that must reach the blocked account is 13,363 euros.
- The IBAN of our closed bank account and the BIC of the bank.
Here are the best tips for a successful transfer to your Fintiba blocked account
- The process of transferring money from the funds donor's account to our blocked bank account must be done exclusively in a single payment and not in multiple installments, provided the transfer is made by a single person; otherwise, it will be rejected and the amount returned, which would force us to re-transfer the funds a second time. However, if the transfer is from multiple people, the maximum number of transfers can naturally be up to 3 times, meaning 3 people. Fintiba does not allow transfers from more than 3 people, and I have explained this in detail in the "Source of Funds" article under the paragraph Primary Earner Statement Click here to view.
- We must be able to secure the source of funds document in German or English, or translated into either language. Before we transfer the money, not after the transfer process.so that confusion does not occur in the process of securing it after the transfer, as We have a specific deadline to upload the source of funds verification documents. About two weeks after the transfer. Therefore, we do not want to restrict ourselves to time, but rather be prepared in advance.
Here I advise If itthat will Someone else in the money transfer process, that we are in prior agreement with him on this matter. This also applies to us in case we are the ones who will perform the transfer. That is, the source of the funds traces back to us (the sale of our own property, whether it is a house, a car, or something similar), so here we prepare this sales contract prior to the transfer process. I explained this idea in detail in Paragraph of the proof of source of funds document. - The bank account statement must be issued after the transfer of funds, not before it, which is the reverse of the source of funds document.
We note the importance of reading Proof of source of funds article Before Transfer the funds and not after it. The two stages of transferring funds and proving the source of funds are closely related to each other.
